VR for Healthcare

In order to improve healthcare services, the eHealth for everyone Foundation leverages virtual reality technology as a tool for training healthcare professionals to promote best practices in health. We also examine the application of virtual reality technology on patients to enhance health outcomes while also being a tool for the treatment of medical conditions such as mental health.

Virtual Reality for Healthcare

With the goal of enhancing Nigerian nurse’s ability to attend to births, we have been actively working on a virtual reality construct for Helping Babies Breathe (eHBB) in partnership with the Universities of Washington and Oxford. It was implemented at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital after being tested at the National Hospital in Abuja. This platform offered an immersive learning opportunity for Nurses, Midwives, and Doctors that specialize in delivery and pediatric health care to learn how to assist newborn babies in breathing. Currently, we are developing a 3-D Virtual Reality/Immersive experience mobile application that provides effective incremental exposure-therapy to offer treatments to individuals who experience challenges with their metal health.
